It has been so cold for so long. The paper said we are on track to having the fifth coldest winter since like 1860 something. Brrrr. I have been wearing nothing but boots to work for a solid month. The snow has lasted longer than I have ever seen it last in Boise. I guess what I am trying to say is...I feel like I am in Logan again.

The before picture is us trying to be tough...apparently we are bad at tough faces.

We are missing Grandma and Grandpa Shiflet. They are in Arizona until the end of February. For now, this is our only way to talk to them. We love you Grandpa and Grandma!

Kyle's last day at the Hughes Group. It has been such a great job. We are so blessed. And look how much they love him :)

Shut the Box is a new game we got. It is pretty fun. You roll the dice and then you cover whatever combination that adds up to the amount you rolled. The goal is to roll perfectly so that you cover all your numbers. It's mindless, which makes it the perfect game to play after work. :)

Kyle snores when he is sick, and I just can't sleep when I can't breathe at all, so we are busting out the nose strips. #nomakeup #don'tjudge

Kyle is taking an intercession class during Christmas break so we got to have lunch together today. We finished it off at Ben and Jerry's which just happens to be a couple blocks from my work. I have already made a promise that I wouldn't go there unless Kyle was with me...I could just see myself heading that way for wayyy too many lunch breaks.

We headed off to Pancake House for breakfast, of course! And oh my...It certainly lives up to its reputation. Kyle got "those potatoes" and I got the cinnamon roll! If you haven't seen a cinnamon roll from Pancake House, prepare to be amazed...
No, that is not a baked chicken...that is a cinnamon roll. For only $3.25, you can feed a whole family! I ate until I was full, Kyle ate his breakfast and then ate off of it until he was full, and then we took the remaining half home with us, which Kyle ate for breakfast the next day!
We shopped around McCall the rest of the morning and I found this little gem for my little sister :)
After shopping, we headed off to go snowmobiling! Can you believe all the fun things we got to do? ISRCapital rented the snowmobiles from Cheap Thrills, and the man who was explaining how to work the snowmobiles scared me so bad, I thought I would break it by just sitting on it. He kept saying "that's a $150 piece of plastic covering a $300 tube of aluminum" and all these dollars that we would have to pay. I kept screaming at Kyle every time he tried to go off the road at all.
We snowmobiled into Burgdorf hot springs. We originally planned on getting in, but didn't have tons of time, and the thought of snowmobiling with wet hair was not appealing, so we paid a fortune for a giant pretzel and a microwaved burrito and were back on the mountain. This time I was a little more brave, and we went off the trail a little. I got to drive half the time and I just LOVED it! Kyle did the fun off road stuff, and I just liked to go straight and fast.
We had a huge spaghetti dinner as a company in one of the townhouses, and I'm sure they all stayed up way to long, but Kyle and I left early so that we could drive home early on Sunday. It was an amazing trip, with some super fun people. I feel SO blessed to finally be working with people who I enjoy being around. It was the best $50 trip to McCall in the whole world.

The townhouses we stayed in were amazing. Each has 2 master bedrooms, 1 room with 2 full beds and a tv room with a hide-a-bed couch. We were lucky enough to get into a house that had only one other couple in it, so we enjoyed the master bed and bathroom all weekend!
On Friday night, we met at Ponderosa Park and snowshoed into Blue Moon Yurt. It was a pretty tame snowshoeing experience (thankfully) but it still took about an hour to get there. The hardest part is that when I got walking up those hills, my whole body started burning up, so Kyle had to help me take multiple layers off along the way. It's way easier to snowshoe without all the layers anyways :) We set off around 6, so it was dark by then, so the trail is lit by little torches along the way. So fun!
Remember when I said the worst part was taking off the layers? I take it back. Imagine eating a 5 course dinner and then snowshoeing an hour back to the cars...that was the worst part. But in the end, I definitely think it was all worth it. It was such a cool thing...and likely the only time that we will ever snowshoe...again.

In this picture, we are standing outside a shady pizza place downtown, Wiseguys Pizza. We ate lunch together after Kyles intercession class. I love working downtown! This place has these amazing garlic breadsticks. They tie the bread in a knot shape and then you dip them in marinara. So good! Better than the pizza.

Please feel free to ignore our blog for the next year. We are trying an experiment. We are going to try to take a picture every day. We will probably not post every day, but we will try to post the pictures once a week or month. At the end, we thought we would put together one of those picture books. With a short sentence for every day or week or if we are bad, every month.
Cold January 1st. We both had work off, so we had lunch at Red Robin, went to the Hobbit with Sherri and loved it! We went shopping and then finished the day off eating Madagascar macaroni and cheese at lady and dads. :)
